The E-5 Committee on Radioactive Waste Management was charged with developing generic guidance and procedures for state inspection of low-level radioactive waste packages and other regulatory inspections that may be required for low-level waste management and disposal.  As part of this task, a series of documents have been developed and are made available here for State Radiation Control Program use.

The committee believes that the electronic versions of these documents will provide  generic guidance and procedures for inspection of low-level radioactive waste disposal facilities.  The attachments are (1) Generic Procedures for the Inspection of Low-Level Radioactive Waste   Conveyance, Packaging and Form, (2) Waste Calculation Worksheet (Word document), and (3) Waste Calculation Worksheet (Excel file).  The Excel file will perform the calculations for you.  You must have Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel on your computer for these files to display properly and (where applicable) calculate.
