Suggested State Regulations (SSR) Council  Fact Sheet

A listing and brief description of each of the Working Groups under the Suggested State Regulations Council are below.  There is a Fact Sheet for the SSR Council and for each of the Working Groups within this Council.  Each Fact Sheet contains a list of the charges, how these charges relate to CRCPD's goals and objectives, and the name and email address of the chairperson.  If you need additional information on a particular working group, such as who the members, advisors and resources are, contact Sue Smith.  The Fact Sheets are accessed by clicking on the Working Group's name.

Brief Description of Suggested State Regulations Council Working Groups:

SRC - EI Emerging Issues Committee Identifies new environmental radiation issues, including Homeland Security issues, monitors and assimilates requests for information, provides leadership in identifying what type of publications will be developed, assists the council chair in prioritizing goals based on emerging issues that are tied to the CRCPD Strategic Plan Goals and Objectives, makes recommendations for committee or task force membership based on the member's interest in the emerging issue. 

SR-A Suggested State Regulations - General Provisions.  Develops suggested state regulations for Part A General Provisions. 

SR-B Suggested Regulations - Registration of Radiation Machines, Facilities, and Services. Develops suggested state regulations for Part B (Registration of Radiation Machines, Facilities, and Services).

SR-C Suggested Regulations - Licensing of Radioactive Materials. Develops suggested state regulations for Part C (Licensing of Radioactive Materials).

SR-D Suggested State Regulations - Standard for Protection Against Radiation Develops suggested state regulations for Part D (Standards for Protection Against Radiation.) 

 SR-E Suggested Regulations - Radiation Safety Requirements for Industrial Radiographers.  Develops suggested state regulations for Part E (Radiation Safety Requirements for Industrial Radiographic Operations).

SR-F Suggested Regulations - X-Rays in Healing Arts. Develops suggested state regulations for Part F (X-Rays in Healing Arts).

SR-G Suggested Regulations - Use of Radionuclides in the Healing Arts. Develops suggested state regulations for Part G (Use of Radionuclides in the Healing Arts)

SR-H Suggested Regulations - Radiation Safety Requirements for Non-Medical Radiation Generating Devices. Develops suggested state regulations for Part H (Radiation Safety Requirements of Analytical X-Ray).

SR-I Suggested Regulations - Radiation Safety Requirements for Particle Accelerators. Develops suggested state regulations for Part I (Radiation Safety Requirements for Particle Accelerators).

SR-J Suggested Regulations - Notices, Instructions, and Reports to Workers; Inspections. Develops suggested state regulations for Part J (Notices, Instructions, and Reports to Workers; Inspections).

SR-L Suggested Regulations - Assured Isolation. Develops suggested state regulations for Part L (Assured Isolation).

SR-M Suggested Regulations - Licensing Requirements for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste. (Develops suggested state regulations for Part M (Licensing Requirements for the Disposal of Radioactive Waste).

SR-N Suggested Regulations - TENORM Rules. Develops suggested state regulations for Part N (Regulation and Licensing of Technologically Enhanced Naturally Occurring Materials (TENORM).

SR-O Suggested Regulations - Decontaminated/Decommissioning. Develops suggested state regulations for Part O (Decontamination/Decommissioning).

SR-P Suggested Regulations - Licensee Contingency Planning. Develops suggested state for Part P (Licensee Contingency Plan).

SR-Q Suggested Regulations - Licenses and Radiation Safety Requirements of Irradiators. Develops suggested state regulations for Part Q (Licenses and Radiation Safety Requirements for Irradiators). 

SR-R Suggested Regulations - Radon. Develops suggested state regulations for Part R (Radon).

SR-S Suggested Regulations - Bonding and Surety. Develops suggested state regulations for Part S (Bonding and Surety).

SR-T Suggested Regulations - Transportation of Radioactive Materials. Develops suggested state regulations for Part T (Transportation of Radioactive Materials).

SR-U Suggested Regulations - Licensing Requirements for Uranium and Thorium Processing and Related Radioactive Material. Develops suggested state regulations for Part U in the area of licensing requirements for Uranium and Thorium processing and related radioactive materials.

SR-W Suggested Regulations - Radiation Safety Requirements for Wireline Service Operations and Subsurface Tracer Studies. Develops suggested state regulations for Part W (Wireline Service Operations and Subsurface Tracer Studies). 

SR-X Suggested Regulations - Medical Therapy.  Develops suggested state regulations for Part X (Medical Therapy).

SR-Y Suggested Regulations - Disposal of Contaminated Waste Water Sludge in Landfills.  To develop suggested state regulations pertaining to the radioactive content of municipal solid waste.

SR-Z Suggested Regulations:  Z:  Medical Credentialing.  To develop suggested state regulations for credentialing of Medical Radiation Technologists, Medical Physicists, and Medical Dosimetrists, working with national organizations to ensure compatibility.

SR-AA Suggested Regulations - Lasers. Develops suggested state regulations for Part AA (Lasers).

SR-BB Suggested Regulations - Tanning. Develops suggested state regulations for Part BB (Tanning).

Note:  The SSR Working Groups were restructured and renamed November 2002.
