Building Technical Capacity in State Radon Programs
“Radon Control - From Theory to Practice”
This radon training session will cover topics and concepts of radon control.
We will go from the concept of how it is supposed to work to the practical
application of the concept. Participants will have the opportunity to construct
components of membrane depressurization systems. During the interactive portion
of the training, All participants are encouraged to dress in comfortable
“work clothing” which should be comparable to clothes that you would wear for
painting, as they may come in contact with, dirt, possibly gravel or sand,
caulking, sealants and other related materials, etc. Clothing should be of the
type to allow you to move freely, to bend, kneel, stretch and reach. You must
wear shoes that cover your feet completely, no flip flops, sandals or dress
shoes as tools with related materials will be utilized for the interactive
portion of the day. Proper safety gear will be addressed on site. If you plan to
attend the classroom session and only observe without actively participating in
the interactive portion, you must still dress in comfortable clothing with shoes
that cover your feet, such as a tennis shoe.
Due to limited training space, this training is offered with priority to
attendees from state radon programs. It is limited to a first come first serve
basis and all others will be considered if there is classroom space available at
class time.
