More Positions and Resolutions Michael H. Mobley
Relating to:
Contributions of Michael H. Mobley to radiation protection of the citizens of Tennessee, the nation, and in particular, his contributions to the efforts and goals of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, Inc. (CRCPD).
Whereas:
Michael Mobley worked for the Tennessee Radiation Control Program for over 31 years, serving as its director for 17 years.
Whereas:
Michael Mobley, during these 31 years of service with the state of Tennessee, exhibited outstanding leadership, and demonstrated sincere concern for the public health and safety of the citizens of Tennessee.
Whereas:
Michael Mobley has served the nation in providing both administrative and technical guidance on radiation protection matters to such national groups as the Department of Energy's Advisory Committee on External Regulation, the Food and Drug Administration's National Mammography Quality Assurance Advisory Committee, and a variety of federal agencies on the management of high-level and low-level radioactive waste.
Whereas:
Michael Mobley has supported the efforts and goals of the CRCPD during his entire tenure with the Tennessee program, serving on the Board of Directors, as its Treasurer and later as its Chairman, and serving on many CRCPD committees, many of which he chaired.
Whereas:
Now Therefore, Be It Resolved: Michael Mobley was recognized by his peers in 1996 for his outstanding leadership and many contributions to the field of radiation protection by bestowing on him the "Gerald S. Parker Award of Merit," the most coveted and prestigious award given by the CRCPD.
Be It Further Resolved: CRCPD, having over 900 members in the radiation protection field, expresses its sincere appreciation to Michael Mobley for his many contributions and untiring dedication to the field of radiation protection, and in particular, appreciation for his contributions to the CRCPD.
Bestowed by the CRCPD Board of Directors on this 8th day of November, 1999. That his many friends and co-workers in the field of radiation protection wish him a well deserved and pleasant retirement.
