Board of Directors Award for Meritorious
Service
Each year the CRCPD Board of Directors presents the Award for
Meritorious Service to deserving members of CRCPD.
It is the goal of the Conference of Radiation
Control Program Directors, Inc. (CRCPD) to assist the states and/or
public in achieving a better understanding of, and protection from,
radiation exposure. Individuals who have made significant
contributions towards this goal may be recognized by the CRCPD for
such efforts. This award is for service to the CRCPD that
contributed significantly in assisting the CRCPD to achieve its
goals.

Patrick Mulligan
(New Jersey)
Patrick Mulligan has distinguished himself by providing excellent leadership, and service for the past six years as Chairperson of the Committee on Emergency Response Planning (HS/ER-5) of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD). As Chairperson of HS/ER-5, Patrick has been instrumental in ensuring that CRCPD participated in the Federal Radiological Preparedness Coordinating Committee meetings, and subcommittees; Advisory Team meetings; and in 2010 Patrick prepared comments on the NRC Report regarding the Task Force on Tritium in Groundwater and represented CRCPD at NRC’s public meeting on Tritium in Groundwater. His work with the Department of Energy has resulted in improved health and safety and operations manuals for use during crisis and consequence management.
Patrick has made a significant contribution in the field of radiological emergency preparedness and response. His dedicated leadership of the HS/ER-5 Committee has clearly enhanced the national stature of the CRCPD in this vital area.
