Board of Directors Award for Meritorious
Service
Each year the CRCPD Board of Directors presents the Award for
Meritorious Service to deserving members of CRCPD.
It is the goal of the Conference of Radiation
Control Program Directors, Inc. (CRCPD) to assist the states and/or
public in achieving a better understanding of, and protection from,
radiation exposure. Individuals who have made significant
contributions towards this goal may be recognized by the CRCPD for
such efforts. This award is for service to the CRCPD that
contributed significantly in assisting the CRCPD to achieve its
goals.
Below are the 2010 recipients of the Board of Directors

Awarded to:
Catherine Fontaine
Catherine Fontaine is recognized for her
professionalism, leadership, and dedication to the goals and objectives of
the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors, Inc. (CRCPD).
For a number of years, she has been a willing and faithful volunteer,
serving as Chairperson, Member, and Advisor to important CRCPD working
groups. Her most recent accomplishment was overseeing, as Chairperson,
the revision of Suggested State Regulations Part G, Use of Radionuclides in
the Healing Arts.
She is recognized for her steady, dependable, and
proficient manner of ensuring that, through her work with CRCPD, citizens of
all states, not only those of Texas, will benefit from her many valuable
contributions to improving radiation protection. Ms. Fontaine is a
highly valued member of CRCPD and is awarded the Board of Directors
Meritorious Service Award.
David J. Allard, CHP
David J. Allard, CHP is commended for setting the
standard of excellence as the CRCPD Liaison with the National Council on
Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) for the past seven years.
During his tenure as Liaison to NCRP, Dave has reviewed and
coordinated and provided comments on many NCRP documents on behalf of CRCPD.
In this role, he has demonstrated and active commitment to improving
radiation protection.
Michael Leal
Michael Leal is recognized for his outstanding
commitment to CRCPD. Mr. Leal
has served as an FDA resource to the H-33 Task Force on the Inspection
Protocol of Diagnostic X-ray Facilities Using CR/DR Technology since 2007.
As a resource individual to this task force, Mr. Leal has always
represented FDA enthusiastically and effectively.
Mr. Leal provided assistance to the H-11 Committee on
Mammography and H-4 Committee on Nationwide Evaluation X-ray Trends (NEXT)
with several of their training courses.
Mike's knowledge of the medical radiation field has
been of great value to the Conference of Radiation Control Directors.
His enthusiasm and willingness to serve are very much appreciated.
Suggested State Regulations - Part G: Radionulcides in the Healing Arts:

The Suggested State Regulations for Control of
Radiation Part G: Use of Radionuclides in the Healing Arts working
group is recognized for their outstanding dedication to revising Part G.
SR-G worked diligently toward the timely incorporation of needed changes
into Part G and toward delivering the updated revision to the CRCPD Board of
Directors.
SR-G members work to fulfill their charges in a timely
and proficient manner. The outstanding efforts, achievements, and
recommendations by this working group will be a benefit to citizens in
states choosing to adopt Part G.
